Otto remained expressionless as he watched.

Grace only understood why the man had come over to her when he asked for her phone number.

She felt a little embarrassed and unsure how to refuse this encounter, especially in this situation.

Mason had been making faces at her for a while now.

She hesitated for a moment before looking up and seeing Otto a few steps away.

He looked like he was enjoying the show and had probably been watching for a while.

Grace couldn’t see any jealousy on his face.

He didn’t seem to care that she was being approached by another man.

Grace smiled at the man and gave him her number.

She didn’t plan on using it anyway, so it didn’t matter.

The man entered her number and called her to make sure she had it.

“This is my number, my last name is Carpenter,” he said.

Grace nodded and kept a polite smile on her face.

The man had successfully gotten her number and didn’t linger.

He talked to Grace for a bit before returning to his seat in the back row, not too far away.

Otto slowly walked over after the man left.

Grace didn’t look at him, keeping her head down and looking at her phone.

Otto didn’t ask anything and just went back to looking at the files on his computer.

The man started texting Grace, telling her the purpose of his trip, how long he would be in California, and where he was going next to meet someone.

Grace wasn’t interested but pretended to be patient while reading the messages.

The man also asked about Grace’s plans.

Grace thought for a moment and said she was traveling and her itinerary wasn’t certain.

If things went well, she would stay in California longer, but if not, she would leave soon.

The man encouraged her to stay longer, saying California was a great place to travel.

    Grace didn’t reply.

After a while, the man texted again, asking what hotel she was staying at.

Grace hadn’t paid attention to this, so she checked the message Mason had sent her.

He had booked a hotel for her that was right by the coast, with a view of the nearby beach from the window.

Grace didn’t want to tell the man about her hotel. In order to prevent the man from bothering her again, she said she had a friend in California and that her friend would come to pick her up.

After sending the message, Grace put her phone down.

She unconsciously glanced at Otto from the corner of her eye.

Otto didn’t react at all, as if he didn’t care about what was happening on her side.

    Grace suddenly felt bored.

She remembered that when they were still married and she was approached by someone outside, Otto didn’t react much when he found out.

Now, it was normal because he didn’t love her and wasn’t affected by it.

This realization really made Grace uncomfortable.

In the nearly one year before, she had tried her best.

It’s just that Otto was really a tough nut to crack.

    She couldn’t find any flaws.

If she could see a glimmer of hope in Otto, she would have delayed the divorce a little.

Grace turned to look out the window and let out a sigh, closing her eyes again.

Until the plane stopped, Grace and Otto didn’t say another word.

After the plane stopped, passengers got off one after another.

Grace didn’t move, she wasn’t in a hurry and didn’t want to squeeze with these people.

But the Carpenter who approached her before came over again.

He only carried a computer bag and didn’t care about who was around Grace.

His voice was a bit loud, “I’ll call you when I’m free. If you’re nearby, I can take you out to eat.”

    Grace forced a smile, “Okay.”

Otto, on the other hand, smiled without saying a word.

He stood up and greeted Mason, “Let’s go.”

Mason looked at Grace with some disappointment, then carried his things and cleared the way for Otto.

Grace waited until Otto and the others had all left before carrying her luggage down.

When she went out of the gate, the hotel’s pick-up staff was already waiting for her.

Grace began to have a headache after getting on the car.

She leaned against the back of the seat and closed her eyes.

She and Otto couldn’t even say a proper goodbye.

It’s unfortunate that they ended up in this situation.

There was no good beginning between them, and the middle was not satisfactory either.

    The ending was even worse.

She had hoped that at least the way they parted would be beautiful, so that when she remembered him in the future, it wouldn’t be full of regret.

But now it seems that she couldn’t even achieve that.
