Steven got off the car, took off his helmet and handed it to the person next to him.

He lowered his eyebrows and eyes, still looking indifferent.

When he looked up, he saw Peyton walking towards him, so he stood still and looked at her calmly.

As soon as Peyton approached him, the first thing she said was, “I really didn’t look at Brian just now. Your assistant can testify.”

Steven didn’t say anything, but looked at her with deep and intense eyes, as if trying to suck her in.

Peyton felt uncomfortable under his gaze and touched her face, making sure there was nothing on it, then looked down at herself to make sure everything was in order.

However, Steven still looked at her with a sharp and meaningful gaze, making her unable to look directly at him.
He looked at her for a full minute, then moved his thin lips and said loudly, “I’m going to change clothes. Come with me to the Civil Affairs Bureau later.”

Peyton was taken aback, “What are we going to the Civil Affairs Bureau for?”

“To get a marriage license,” Steven replied.

After saying these two words, he went to change his clothes, leaving her alone on the track, looking lonely.

There weren’t many people there, just her, Steven, and Brian.

When Steven said “marriage license”, his voice wasn’t too loud or too soft, but it was enough for everyone present to hear clearly.

Peyton turned her head and saw Brian looking at Steven’s back as he walked towards the changing room, smiling thoughtfully and somewhat smugly.

Sensing Peyton’s gaze, Brian looked over, paused for a moment, and then walked towards her.

Peyton took a step back as he approached.

Brian didn’t mind her actions and smiled happily, “Peyton, did you hear that? Brother just said he’ll take you to get a marriage license at the Civil Affairs Bureau later. As for me, I’m willing to accept defeat. From now on, you’ll be Brother’s woman.”

“As a man, you’re willing to give up your fiancée to someone else. Brian, I’m really embarrassed for you,” Peyton replied.

“Shouldn’t you be grateful to me? You’re about to become the happiest woman in Golden Valley, you know.

Do you realize how many heiresses have tried so hard but failed to catch my attention?”

Peyton looked at him and suddenly laughed, her eyes and eyebrows curved:

“Yes, anyway, I don’t want to marry you. A man with such despicable means makes me sick just looking at him.

Fortunately, I recognized your true face in time.”

“So what if I’m despicable? We both benefit,” Brian said.

“You didn’t pay any price and you married into the Murphy family for free. This is a great thing for you.”

“Did you plan everything in advance? You rejected so many women who are more beautiful, have better backgrounds, and are smarter than me, and chose me as your fiancée. You were just waiting for this day, right?”

Brian did not answer her question, only said:

“Women should not know too much. Peyton, especially in front of Big Brother, you must be careful with your words and actions. Even if you are smart, you are not as smart as him.”

“Do you also know that Steven is smart? Then why did you send me to him? Even I can see through your intentions, do you think he won’t?”

“What does it have to do with you? Peyton, just take care of yourself. If you please Big Brother, you won’t have to worry about money for the rest of your life.”

When Peyton heard this, her heart moved. Yes, she shouldn’t be entangled with Brian here. Now she needs to please Steven! The man she slept with as a gigolo for a night and left a tip of 102 dollar! He can fulfill all her needs!

With this in mind, Peyton raised her chin:

“Since that’s the case, Brian, should you talk to me in this tone now? Anyway, you have to call me sister-in-law, right?”
Brian now had a look as if he had swallowed a fly but had to swallow it down:

    “Peyton, you!”

“I hope you get used to calling me that sooner. After all, you will always have to call me sister-in-law when you see me in the future. Consider it as early practice!”

From afar, Steven had changed into a simple and clean white shirt, black pants, with one hand in his pocket. Upon hearing Peyton’s words, his lips curved up.

“This woman is much more interesting than I imagined!” he thought.

“Let her come to the car,” Steven ordered calmly.
    “What about her things?”

His special assistant, Richard Butler, nodded in agreement.
    “President Murphy, everything is ready.”

Steven nodded slightly, withdrew his gaze, and walked out. Upon hearing that Steven was looking for her, Peyton quickly left Brian without further conversation and walked away.

Richard had already opened the car door for her.
    “Miss Coleman, please.”

Peyton glanced into the car and saw Steven sitting inside. She rolled her eyes, bent over, and got in. Steven had been flipping through the documents in his hand, not even lifting his eyelids from beginning to end.

The carriage was very quiet, so quiet that Peyton was a little uncomfortable. She gently bit her lower lip and tentatively asked, “Steven, are we really going to the Civil Affairs Bureau now?”

“What else?” he asked rhetorically, still not looking at her.

“I…I’m afraid you’ll change your mind,” Peyton said.
“It’s such a big deal, and I’m the only one benefiting from it. I always feel uneasy about it.”

Steven ignored her and continued to look at the document. He then took out a pen and signed his name at the end.

His fingers were slender, with distinct joints, and very powerful. Peyton stared blankly at him and suddenly blurted out, “Oh yeah! If we’re going to the Civil Affairs Bureau, I…I didn’t bring anything with me. I have to go home and get them first…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Steven raised his hand and threw her a household registration book. Peyton quickly caught it and opened it to see that it was her family’s household registration book.

“I…I forgot my ID card in the pocket of my coat yesterday…”

Steven raised his hand again, and her ID card was thrown to her.

Peyton looked at the things in her hand.
“Um…Steven, when did you go get these things?”

It had only been ten minutes since he finished the race with Brian. How could he have gone to her house and brought all her things back in ten minutes?

Steven replied concisely, “Before the race.”

    “Oh, I see…”

“Is there anything else?” he asked, supporting his forehead with one hand.
    “Hmm?”

    Peyton shook her head.
    “No, nothing…”

    “That’s good.”

Even if Peyton had more questions, she didn’t dare to ask them. What if Steven got annoyed with her questions, thought she talked too much, and didn’t want to get a marriage certificate with her? Then she would be at a loss!

    Civil Affairs Bureau.
