Longing for Yolanda’s embrace, only Helena knew how precious this embrace was.

    “Mom, I don’t want to leave you…”

This was her truest thought. In her past life, Wilbur brought her back to the York family, where she was bullied by her stepmother, oppressed by her sister, ignored by the servants, and despised by the other rich young ladies.

In that high society, she was an outcast. Her half-sister once mocked her in front of other young ladies at an important banquet.

Memories of her past life were unbearable, and she wanted to escape and withdraw.

She truly cherished the time spent with her mother and did not want to lose this warmth.

In her previous life, she was careful and obedient everywhere in order to squeeze into that circle and avoid being ridiculed.

Her stepmother prohibited her from visiting her mother, and she dared not disobey.

But who knew that the next meeting after the farewell was already separated from her mother.

Thinking of this, Helena once again hugged Yolanda’s neck tightly.

She didn’t want to leave her mother.

After Helena left, Wilbur added fuel to the fire by vividly describing how rude, domineering, and maverick the young lady was.

“Indeed, something that cannot be brought to the table,” said a girl who appeared to be around sixteen years old standing nearby, rolling her eyes with contempt.

“Theresia,” said the elegant lady sitting on the sofa, frowning slightly.

The girl stuck out her tongue but did not speak anymore.

The beautiful woman turned to the man who looked worried on the other side and said, “Lng, why don’t you pick her up personally?”

“Mommy, are you crazy! She’s just a wild girl. Why does my dad have to pick her up?” The girl immediately protested.

“Theresia, she’s your sister!” the beautiful woman corrected.

“I don’t have a sister like her!” the girl said disgustingly.

“Theresia, go back to your room!” The beautiful woman’s face stiffened, and she seemed a little angry.

“Hmph!” The girl snorted and walked away.

“You can go down too,” the beautiful woman waved her hand, and Wilbur obediently retreated.

In the luxuriously decorated living room, only this couple was left.

The beautiful woman said softly, “Lng, Helena is just a seventeen-year-old child. Her immature mind is normal. The reason why she is making a scene like this is probably to vent her anger to Yolanda. I was the one who let her down back then…”

The beautiful woman’s eyes turned red as she spoke. “She was my best friend, but I…”

“Vanessa, don’t say anything,” the man frowned, and he seemed unwilling to bring up the past.

“Lng, you go and pick up Helena personally. My dad has already ordered it. If Yolanda still can’t let go of her grudge, let me go with you. I can endure whatever insults she throws at me…”

Vanessa started to cry softly. Her already teary eyes became even more pitiful.

“I don’t need you to go,” the man hugged Vanessa into his arms.

“I’ll go myself. Don’t worry about what happened seventeen years ago. It wasn’t your fault.”

“It was my fault. I couldn’t control my heart…” Vanessa nestled in the man’s arms.

“It’s just that, it’s just that Helena is a child who grew up with hatred, she might…”

    “Hey…” The man sighed.

“It’s getting late. You should go and rest. I’ll take care of this matter.”

“Okay.” Vanessa nodded and stood up. She turned around and showed a trace of a sneer that was invisible.
