Chapter 4
by adminIn the evening, Grace put on a slightly seductive makeup.
Before that, at the Clark family, many people didn’t like her because she had no background and because they thought it was ridiculous that she married Otto.
Grace was always cautious in her life.
So now, even just putting on a smoky makeup made her feel like she had regained her freedom.
Grace chose a slightly sexy dress and looked at herself in the mirror.
She was very satisfied with her appearance.
She went out and took a taxi to the largest bar in the city center.
The bar was so big that it had several different areas.
In the public area, there was a dance floor where men and women were dancing close to each other.
Grace looked around and saw that there was also a business area, but she didn’t want to go there.
It was boring.
Grace found an empty sofa in the public area and sat down.
When the waiter came over, she ordered two bottles of wine and a fruit platter.
Leaning back on the sofa, she sipped her wine and watched the men and women dancing in the dance floor.
The colorful lights were a bit dazzling, and she couldn’t see their faces clearly, but they all seemed very happy.
After a while, Grace laughed.
She was richer than them, so how could she not be happy?
Thinking like this, Grace called the waiter and ordered several snack platters.
After drinking a bottle of beer, someone came over to talk to her.
She was a beautiful girl sitting alone, so she naturally attracted people’s attention.
The man sat directly opposite Grace and asked, “Are you alone?”
Grace squinted at him.
He was wearing casual clothes and looked decent.
Grace knew that the people who came here were all fun-loving and open-minded.
She didn’t answer, but raised her glass to the man and took a sip.The man saw Grace agree so readily and followed suit by downing a glass.
Grace smiled and put her glass down.
The man quickly poured her another drink.
Grace felt slightly better about herself and her appearance, but if she sat here all night without anyone approaching her, it would be really depressing.
In the lull between drinks, Grace couldn’t help but get lost in thought.
She wondered what Otto was doing right now.
After waiting and hoping for so long, they finally got divorced.
He should be celebrating with someone, right?
The thought made Grace even more uncomfortable, so she called the waiter over and ordered another drink.
Meanwhile, Otto was sitting in a private room in the bar’s business area.
He had a business engagement today, but it wasn’t very formal.
There was a potential partner who was said to be doing well in overseas markets.
The Clark family wanted to expand overseas, and if they could work with this person, it would be easier for them to go international.
What’s more, the partner invited Otto out for entertainment today.
The partner was a middle-aged man who was probably a regular in this kind of place.
However, after he arrived, he only talked briefly about the partnership before calling over many young women to accompany them.
Otto didn’t really like this kind of marginal entertainment.
This kind of gathering always reminded him of the words “hypocritical”.
Otto gritted his teeth and drank two glasses with President White.
President White chuckled, “Mr. Clark doesn’t seem to be used to coming to this kind of place.”
Otto also smiled, “I don’t come here very often.”
President White shook the glass in his hand, implying something, “Have a drink, it might help.”
Otto smiled and raised his glass to clink with President White’s.
The red wine was brought by President White himself and tasted a bit dry, but it was still drinkable.
Otto didn’t know what brand it was, but it didn’t taste that great.
After two drinks, Otto leaned back on the sofa and gently pushed the girl who was leaning on him away.
