Chapter 1
by soul-beautyOn a scorching summer day, Y City was so hot that even the cicadas fell silent.
Tina Wilson, who was in an air-conditioned room, was sweating profusely and trembling as she looked at her mother and sister who were right in front of her.
“Do you know what kind of consequences your actions today will bring me? If my boss finds out, I could be in jail for more than ten years. Do you know how serious this is?” Tina said in a shaky voice.
Silvia Wilson’s expression did not change at all.
“Tina Wilson, your father doesn’t have the money for medical treatment. I took one of your design drawings to exchange for money. Do you have any objections, or do you want to see your father die in the hospital? Would that make you feel better?”
“I said I would find a way to get the money. I will definitely pay for the hospital bills before the money in his account runs out, instead of you stealing my design and selling it!” Tina replied.
Her father had been in the hospital for a week, and she had already saved 200,000 yuan in his account. The medical expenses for her father within a week could not possibly exceed 200,000 yuan.
She had been working tirelessly for half a month with her subordinates to secure a large project. This way, she would receive a bigger bonus, and even if her father had no hope of recovery, he would not have to worry about money.
She never expected her mother to do such a thing. Silvia Wilson didn’t care about Tina’s words at all. To her, taking one of Tina’s design drawings to sell was not a big deal. Did Tina really need to make such a fuss about her mother’s behavior?
“The family is so poor that we can’t even afford to eat, yet you still put on makeup and dress up nicely to go out and participate in some bidding meetings for your company. You don’t care about your father’s well-being at all.
With such a heartless attitude, how can we rely on you in the future? When I gave birth to you, I almost died from complications. Your father has been working hard all these years for you.
But what have you done? When your father got sick, you disappeared. If it wasn’t for your smart sister who knew that your old photos could be sold for money, your father would have died yesterday!”
Silvia Wilson slapped Tina Wilson across the face as she spoke.
Tina Wilson was so angry that her whole body trembled. She knew her mother’s slap was coming, but she couldn’t dodge it and had to take it.
A palm print immediately appeared on her face, and her tongue was cut by her teeth, leaving a bloody taste in her mouth.
Vera Wilson saw Tina Wilson’s swollen cheeks and a hint of schadenfreude flashed in her eyes.
She walked over to Silvia Wilson and gently advised her, “Mom, don’t get too worked up. It’s not good for your health. Dad is still in the ICU, and we don’t know if he’ll make it. If something happens to you, what will I do?”
Silvia Wilson quickly hugged Vera Wilson and said, “Vera, don’t be sad. Mom won’t be killed by that bitch Tina Wilson.”
Silvia Wilson glared at Tina Wilson fiercely, wishing she could kill her with her eyes.
Vera Wilson choked up and said, “Mom, don’t be mad at sister. Sister is also worried about Dad’s condition, but she’s too busy with work and has to pay off the mortgage and car loan. We can’t help sister much.
She’s the only one earning money to buy a house, a car, bags, and a high-end camera. Otherwise, when she marries into her husband’s family, she will be looked down upon. We should understand sister.”
Vera Wilson’s seemingly comforting words were actually cutting to the heart.
Not only did she erase all of Tina Wilson’s contributions to the family over the years, but she also fueled Silvia Wilson’s anger even more.
Silvia Wilson was so angry that she trembled.
“Tina Wilson, where is your property certificate? Take it out quickly. This house is worth at least three million. With three million, we can cover your father’s medical expenses.
And those cameras of yours, what use do they have for a woman like you who nobody wants? Your sister is getting married next month and needs a camera. Go get it!”
