    ‘— Edward’s POV —

“Then why are they not together yet?”

I look at Albert. I guess he is the person who should answer this question. But he doesn’t say anything. Maybe he doesn’t know how to give a simple answer to a complex question like this.

How should we explain to a kid that fairy tales that she reads every night are far from reality? Fairy tales have solutions to every problem, but in real life, it’s difficult to find solutions to our own problems. Fairy tales are always blessed with happy endings but the same cannot be said for reality.

“I’m going to call your sister, Victoria.” After a short silence in the living room, I finally decide to speak up.

“But you haven’t answered my question yet!” Victoria grabs my hand and says.

“You will have the answer when time is ripe, Victoria.” Herbert finally gives her a ‘wise’ answer.

    — Elizabeth’s POV —

When I hear my phone ringing from my bedroom, I go there to take the call, and I find that Edward is calling me.

    “Hey Edward, how are you?”

“I’m good, Elise. How about you?”

    “I’m good.”

“I just wanted to let you know that Victoria is with us now.”

“What is she doing there?” I ask in confusion.

Before Edward could answer my question, my mom runs into my room and exclaims, “Victoria is missing!”

Now I understand the situation. Victoria must have gone to Genesis Alpha Pack on her own without informing us. This is the second time she’s done this.

“Don’t worry mom, Victoria is with Edward. She’s safe.”

Mom puts her hand over her chest and sighs, “She is going to give me a heart attack.”

I turn back to Edward on the phone, “I got it Edward, I’ll be there in a minute.”

“See you then, Elise. But… ” Edward says hesitatingly.

    “But what?” I ask.

“Victoria requested me to ask you not to scold her when you are here.”

“We’ll see about that later. See you, Edward.” I say and end the call.

I decide to make my way to the Genesis Alpha Pack alone. When I reach their pack house, Herbert answers the door and lets me in. Upon entering the living room, I find Albert and Edward standing with Victoria, and Victoria is hiding behind Edward’s legs.

“That’s not a good hiding spot, Victoria, I can see you well.” I say to Victoria.

“Will you scold me, Elise? You look scary…” She says.

Everyone in the room is amused by this situation, except Victoria and me.

“Come out, Victoria.” I order her. She comes out to stand in front of me with her face down. She certainly feels guilt because of her doing.

“This is the second time that you run around alone without informing me or mom, Victoria.” I say while crossing my arms.

“I just wanted to see Edward.” She says in a low voice.

“But you could always come here with me or mom to see Edward, Vic.” She doesn’t say anything. So I continue to speak, “Listen, Vic. Mom and I get worried when we find you missing from your room. You can’t go places alone like this. It is dangerous for you. You are my sister, and I have rivals. Someone could kidnap you and use you against me. Do you understand?”

“Yes, I do.” She answers in a even lower voice.

“Do you remember what you promise you made to mom when you can here the first time without informing her?”

Victoria looks up at me. She definitely knows what I am talking about, by looking at the clarity in her eyes.

“If you can’t keep your promise, then you should never make them.”

“I’m sorry, Elise.” She says. “I won’t do this again. If I want to come here next time, I will tell you or mom.”

I look at other people present in the room. “I’m sorry that you had to see this. I had to talk to Victoria here because I couldn’t have talked to her about such things in front of my mom.”

“We know that, Elise.” Edward says.

“So, what did you talk with Victoria?” I question him.
