Chapter 5

“When am I going home?” I asked. Kyle glanced at me and continued driving.

“Which home do you mean? The pack house is your home as well, you know.”He told keeping his eyes on the road. I frowned.

“I mean with my mom and dad.”

“We could go right now if you want.”He smiled but it didn’t reach his eyes.

“Yeah, I miss them.”I played with my fingers on my lap. He didn’t say anything after that. Soon my house came to view and I hopped outside of the car as soon as he stopped the car. I opened the front door of the house and walked inside.

“Mom? Dad?”I called out, looking around the foyer.

“Madeline!”I heard my mother say in the kitchen. I walked to the kitchen and saw my parents. I was quickly pulled into a hug by my mother.

“I missed you. Where were you?”She asked, worried. A hint of anger was in her voice. She placed her hands on my shoulder, looking at me.

Guilt dawned on me and I frowned.

“She was with me all the time.”Kyle’s voice came from behind me. My father crossed his arms, curiosity in his eyes.
“What were you doing with Kyle?”My mother raised her eyebrows, looking at me. I glanced at Kyle for help and he nodded.

“Madeline is my mate.”He spoke firmly. My mother gasped and she pulled me into another hug, tightly wrapping her arms around me.

“Madeline! I’m so happy for you!”She whispered in my ear.

“Thanks, mom.”She let go of me and I stood at Kyle’s side.My dad had an emotionless stare.

“No. She’s too young to be with him.”He stated, a stern look in his eyes. Kyle and dad were glaring at each other.

“Thomas, stop. I trust Kyle with Madeline. He won’t hurt her.”Mom nudged him in his ribs and smiled at us.
“Mom. I’m home!”

Mason entered the kitchen. His eyes widen when he saw us all packed in the kitchen.

“What’s going on?”

I bit my lip, keeping silent. I don’t know how Mason would react.
“Madeline and Kyle are mates.”Mom told him and his eyes widen as he glanced at Kyle and I. His lips curved up into a smile.

“Congrats, man.”He patted Kyle’s shoulder. He turned to me with a smile.”You too, baby sis.”

My father gave Mason a look and the room went silent. Kyle cleared his throat, breaking the silence.

“She will be staying with me from now on.”Kyle stated, grabbing my hand. My dad narrowed his eyes at him. Oh shit.

“No, she will not.”

Kyle held my hand hard and I winced. His eyes snapped to mine and they soften. I smiled, telling him it was alright.

“She is mine. She will be staying with me.”He growled. Dad looked surprised but covered it.

“Thomas. Madeline will be staying with Kyle and that is final.”Mom said but you could see the sadness in her eyes. She wants me to stay. After that I walked up to my room and grabbed a bag. I packed some of my clothes.

“Are you okay?”Mason asked, leaning against the doorway.

“A little bit.”I sighed. He walked over to me and pulled me into a hug.

“I’ll miss you.”I hugged him. He kissed the top of my head.

“I’ll miss you too, baby sis.”
I picked up the bag and walked downstairs to Kyle. We climbed inside the car and drove off. The pack was far out in the forest, so it took a while to get there. I looked outside the window and saw a dark brown wolf, staring at me. It’s eyes were blue and it seem as if it was trying to tell me something.

“Kyle. Look.”I pointed to where the wolf was but it was gone.

“What?”He asked, concerned.I shook my head. I must be seeing things.

“Nothing.”

Two weeks later.

“Who are you?”I asked the stranger, hesitantly. He smirked, looking at me up and down.

“Jacob Smith and you, darling?”His British accent showed.

“Madeline.”I said, giving him a strange look. His raven black hair was in a messy perfection His blue eyes gazed into my blue ones. He was tall and had a strong body structure. He was pure sexy but my Kyle was an Adonis.

“What are you doing here all by yourself?”He asked. I was by the waterfall behind my house deep in the forest. I have been going here for the pass week or two. Kyle has finally let me out by myself.

“I come here often. What about you, I’ve never seen you here before?”I glanced at the waterfall. He leaned against the tree with his arms crossed with a permanent smirk on his pink lips.

“I was just wondering around. It’s not safe for a beautiful girl like you to be alone in the forest.”

I gulped, nervously. This guy may be handsome but he is creepy.

“Why is that?”I tried to sound confident but failed miserably. I sounded scared and weak. He smirk widen, if that was possible, by the sound of my voice,

“There might be people here who would love to take advantage of you.”He stepped closer to me. I took a step back and we continued this. If he took a step forward, I would take a step backward. That is until I hit a tree. I could feel his breath on my face.

“Young, beautiful and unmarked.”He kissed my neck and I pushed him but he caught my hands in his. It burned but maybe that was my imagination. I felt his teeth graze against my neck. He sunk his teeth into my neck as I screamed. It hurt so much. My eyes widen. I realized he just marked me.

“I finally have what is mine.” That was the last thing I heard before I blacked out.

— Kyle’s POV —

“Good evening, Alpha.”Chloe bowed her head. I nodded her way and continued walking. My neck burned and Ken felt uneasy. I had a bad feeling.

“Where is Madeline?”I asked Mars, worried. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

“I thought she was with you.”He looked confused. I started to worry. Where could she be?
My cheek and neck burned. I cried out in pain. What the hell? Mars looked concerned.

“What’s wrong, Alpha?”He asked anxiously.

“I don’t know.”I managed to say. I felt like I was on fire. I knew what I needed.
More pack members entered my office and they looked concerned. Some even had tears in their eyes.

“Baby, are you okay?”Kaylee asked, touching my arm. The spot burned. I pulled my arm away from her, growling.

“I need Madeline. Get me Madeline.”I ordered and pushed Kaylee away.
“Kyle, we are sending out some warriors to find her now.”I heard Mars say. My eyes were closed. I felt Kaylee’s hands on me again. I opened my eyes and looked up at her with a deadly look.

“Don’t touch me.”My wolf was slowly taking over. She whimpered and backed away from me. I could feel myself shifting in to my midnight black wolf.
I ran outside the pack house, in wolf form and ran into the woods. I tried to search for Madeline. I came across a waterfall and saw a body on the ground. Madeline. I ran next to her and whimpered. Her neck was bleeding.
‘Someone marked our mate!’Ken growled.

I licked her bleeding neck and howled. I shifted back into my human form and got some shorts from one of the trees. I kneeled down and picked her up. Her neck stopped bleeding and her eyes were closed.
A couple of wolves in the pack came and stared at Madeline. They were sad. Their Luna was hurt. I walked with them through the wood to the pack house.

I’m going to kill the person who did this to her.
