Ophelia’s principle is to never hesitate when there’s a chance to climb up the ladder. So without hesitation, she got into the car and sat in the back seat with poise and confidence. “Four Seasons Hotel, please,” she said.

Samuel’s amusement grew stronger as he looked at Ophelia’s calm demeanor, but as he raised his head, he saw Tyler’s expression of confusion as if he was sleepwalking.

“Huh?” Samuel chuckled. “You don’t know how to drive either?”

Tyler woke up abruptly, sweating profusely. “Yes, Young Master Gonzales,” he responded.

The luxurious car slowly merged into the traffic, but today the road seemed unusually congested.

Ophelia remained calm on the surface, but in her heart, she calculated the time. If she was delayed for too long, the surveillance footage she needed might have been deleted. This footage was crucial, as it was the key to convicting those executioners who had pushed a young girl into the water and held her head under.

Of course, even if the footage was lost, it didn’t matter. Ophelia had a hundred ways to find evidence.

The atmosphere inside the car was quiet, and Ophelia took a deep breath and caught a faint scent of medicine in the air. It was coming from the man beside her.

She turned her head and inadvertently met Samuel’s piercing gaze. Was this man too bold?

“Do I know you?” Ophelia asked.

    Samuel answered without hesitation, “Samuel.”

Ophelia paused for a moment, then politely replied, “Ophelia.”

To her surprise, Samuel’s smile grew even wider when he heard her name. He then reached out his hand, which was clean and well-manicured, a clear sign of his privileged background.

Ophelia reciprocated the handshake in the same manner, but as they let go, no one noticed that Samuel had held her hand for a split second longer, as if wanting to keep the warmth of her palm.

Soon, the car stopped at the hotel’s entrance.

Ophelia thanked the driver and was about to close the car door when she realized that Samuel had followed her out of the car.

He stood behind her, basking in the early summer sun, and his entire body seemed to be coated in gold, radiating a brilliant aura that was impossible to ignore.

Before Ophelia could ask why he got out, Samuel explained, “It’s on my way.”

Ophelia raised her eyebrows but didn’t say anything.

She entered the hotel, ignoring Samuel who followed her slowly and went straight to the security room. After explaining the purpose of her visit, the security was surprisingly accommodating and did not ask any questions. He allowed her to go in directly and pointed to a group of surveillance screens, saying, “Miss Tudor, feel free to check.”

Someone had tampered with the surveillance before her and deleted all the contents.

Ophelia had already guessed this, so when she tried to access the surveillance footage from last night, she found a blank screen and nothing to investigate.

The security guard exclaimed with a hint of apology, “I’m really sorry, Miss Tudor. The surveillance system had a malfunction this morning, and the repairman accidentally cleared the data.”

    What a coincidence.

Ophelia appeared disappointed, but she had no intention of pursuing the matter further.

The security guard breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that this girl was foolish and easy to handle, and he quickly dismissed her in just a few words.

However, he did not notice that behind the display screen, Ophelia was quickly and skillfully operating the system. She typed a series of codes and in just a few seconds, what she wanted appeared on the screen.

Ophelia took out a USB drive that she had prepared beforehand, copied the contents, and then restored the system. The mainframe could not detect any trace of her hacking.

The entire process took less than half a minute and was smooth and silent.

Ophelia took the USB drive and put it in her pocket, saying confidently, “Thank you for your help.” She then left the security room.

But as she walked towards the door, she accidentally bumped into a wall of a person.

“Uh.” Ophelia held her aching nose and looked up to see that the person in front of her was Samuel, who had coincidentally appeared.

“How coincidental?” The man’s voice was magnetic and charming, but his expression was cool and collected, making it hard to detect any frivolity.

Ophelia glanced at him and said frankly, “It’s not a coincidence. It seems someone is clearly waiting for an opportunity.”

She didn’t believe that in such a big hotel, they could just happen to bump into each other again at the security room door.

Samuel smiled lightly, and he leaned towards Ophelia.

She could smell the fresh scent of medicine emanating from his body, which was not unpleasant but unique and refreshing. As she watched his devilishly handsome face grow closer, Ophelia couldn’t help but sigh inwardly-

He was definitely a troublemaker level man. His beautiful eyes were deep and mesmerizing like a calm sea, and it was enough to make any girl fall head over heels for him, willingly immersed in his apparent warmth. However, she was not like any other girl, and she could see through the facade. This man might look warm and inviting on the surface, but he was a cold and impenetrable fortress.

Ophelia remained calm and showed no signs of emotion.

Samuel raised an eyebrow, and a mischievous smile appeared on his face, making him even more enchanting.

He said, “Since my waiting game was exposed by Miss Tudor, I guess I’ll have to make up for my mistakes. Where would you like to go? I can give you a ride.”

    Ophelia: “…”

He intentionally emphasized the phrase “en route” which seemed to have a deeper meaning.

Ophelia patted her empty pockets, paused for a second, and then reported the address without hesitation: “Tudor family, thank you.”

She had always been very resourceful when she had no money.

Samuel smiled slyly and said leisurely, “En route, let’s go.”

Two people walking side by side.

Tyler, who was left behind, caught his almost falling chin just in time! Did he just hear what Young Master Gonzales said? On the way? What a joke, the Gonzales family and Tudor family are clearly heading in opposite directions! Is all this trouble for… Could it be that the usually indifferent and abstinent Young Master Gonzales really has different intentions towards the Tudor family, this country bumpkin? The more Tyler thought about it, the more shocked he became.

He climbed into the driver’s seat, suppressed his doubts, and drove steadily, finally stopping at the gate of the Tudor family.

This is a wealthy area, and the Tudor family villa is inside.

“This is it, thank you.” Ophelia got out of the car, but before leaving, she looked at Samuel’s impeccable face and thought for a moment before saying, “I suggest you change the medicine you usually take. The medicinal properties of that medicine are cold, which will only be counterproductive in your case.” After speaking, Ophelia closed the car door and walked away.

No one told her that Samuel had been drinking medicine for years due to his poor health. The only explanation was the faint medicinal fragrance that wafted through the car.

Tyler was a little confused, “Young Master Gonzales, this Miss Tudor is really good at deceiving people. She knows nothing and yet talks nonsense. Does she think she’s more capable than the physician that the old lady found?”

Samuel’s eyes narrowed, with a dazzling light in his pupils, “She’s repaying a favor.”

    The little girl left cleanly.

“Huh?” Tyler didn’t understand. Was there a connection between him making up Young Master Gonzales’s illness and repaying a favor? He turned his head and saw Samuel looking in the direction Ophelia had left, his eyes deep.

Tyler was overjoyed and couldn’t help but say, “Young Master Gonzales, do you really have feelings for Miss Tudor? Let me tell you, you might not know this since you’re always away, but she’s already engaged to Fernando, the grandson of the Harris family!”

“So what?” Samuel smirked, but there was no smile in his eyes.

“It’s just a piece of paper. Even if I steal her away, what can anyone do?”
