Upon hearing the sound, Angelia gradually realized that it sounded more and more like Jerome.

She curiously lifted the tablecloth a bit to take a look.

When she met Jerome’s gaze, her brain momentarily short-circuited.

Jerome was surprised and asked, “What are you doing here?”

The others looked at each other and followed Jerome’s gaze to lift the tablecloth.

Angelia awkwardly crawled out from under the table, pulled on her clothes, touched her neck, and lowered her head.

She couldn’t say that her husband was gay and forced her to have a threesome, so she coincidentally ran into this private room to hide.

She had some dignity and couldn’t bear to lose face.

“Um, I followed along and wanted to see if you needed anything,” Angelia said, biting her tongue and feeling particularly nervous and stuttering.

Jerome looked at her and said, “Cutting magazines, stealing clients, and tracking, Angelia, what exactly do you want to offer?”

“Huh?” Why did she feel like his words had an unclear meaning?

Also, she didn’t cut magazines, steal clients, or track anyone.

She lowered her head and didn’t know how to answer.

    Jerome’s eyes became even darker.

Her silence almost confirmed his suspicions from five years ago.

A scene from five years ago flashed through her mind.

    He coldly said, “Get out.”

“Um.” Angelia estimated that Sammie had probably chased after her, so she opened the door and saw Sammie and Quinton returning, and she was scared back into the room.

“You’re still not leaving?” Jerome frowned.

Angelia cautiously looked at Jerome and said, in order to buy time, “Um, can I offer you a drink?”Jerome sneered, raised his chin, and didn’t hide the mockery in his eyes. He directly refused, “Do you think you have the qualification?”

Angelia resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

This guy is really too arrogant.

“I recommend that you try some local specialties,” Angelia said with a smile.

“You can leave now,” Jerome said coldly.

Angelia felt embarrassed and couldn’t stay any longer. She opened the door and saw that Sammie was gone, so she ran out immediately.

Back home, the more she thought about it, the more she felt that Sammie’s behavior was really outrageous.

She had to divorce him and took out her savings card, which only had 100,000 Dollar.

She had 20,000 Dollar in her bank card, Kate borrowed 30,000 Dollar from her, and she had a salary of 12,000 Dollar this month. Altogether, it was only 162,000 Dollar.

In these years, she had never used a single penny of Sammie’s money. The cost of her child’s education, the cost of the nanny, and the rent were all paid by herself.

Where could she borrow 240,000 Dollar?

“Mom, do we have no money?” Alyssa woke up and looked at Angelia’s calculator, asking.

“I’m sorry, I woke you up, don’t worry, Mom will solve it,” Angelia said softly, turned off the desk lamp, and lay down next to Alyssa.

Alyssa looked at Angelia with affection and said in a childish voice, “Mom, you can sell me. I’m pretty and can be sold at a good price. Then I’ll come back, and we’ll have money.”Angelia was tickled by Alyssa, feeling warm and moist inside.

“Even if I sold myself, I would never sell Alyssa. She is my priceless treasure, and as long as I work hard, I will have money.”

“Okay,” Alyssa responded, holding Angelia’s hand and murmuring, “I really hope my new dad will show up soon.”

Soon, Alyssa fell asleep. Angelia tucked her in and went to take a shower before bed.

Just as she was about to sleep, her phone rang. She quickly silenced it, afraid of waking Alyssa, and answered the call from the general manager.

“Angelia, how could you do this? Jerome is our big client, and you’re not even here,” Walden said angrily.

“Isn’t Kate there? I asked her to help me,” Angelia replied.

“Is it appropriate to hand over your work to someone else? Mr. Taylor is very angry that it wasn’t you who met him. You better hurry over here. If he complains to the big boss, I won’t be able to save you. If you offend Jerome, other hotels won’t accept you either.”

“I understand,” Angelia panicked. She couldn’t afford to lose her job; she had to support Alyssa. “I’ll come over right now.” She took a taxi to the company, doing her hair and makeup on the way.

When she arrived at the hotel, Walden was waiting for her in the lobby.

“I’ll say it again, Jerome is an important client of the big boss. If you offend him, you won’t be able to survive. Be on call for the next 24 hours,” Walden reminded her.

    “I understand,” Angelia replied.

“Also, Mr. Taylor had a few drinks, so I had Kate send him some honey water. Be flexible,” Walden added.”Um.” Angelia hurriedly entered the elevator, arrived at the door of room 1908, took a deep breath, and knocked.

    There was no response inside.

She used her room card to open the door and saw Jerome working at his desk.

She entered fearfully and respectfully looked up, “Mr. Taylor.”

Jerome looked at her, “Is this your work attitude?”

“Considering that you may not want to see me, I entrusted my colleagues to take care of it.” Angelia explained.

Jerome sneered, “Is that still my problem?”

“Of course it’s my fault for not communicating with you in time and causing work mistakes. I will definitely pay attention in the future and prevent similar things from happening.”

“You don’t have a future.” Jerome went to get his phone.

Angelia worried that he was calling the big boss and anxiously grabbed his hand.

She squeezed too hard and the button on her chest popped open.

Jerome saw her deep cleavage at a glance and turned his head.

A scene from five years ago flashed through his mind, making him irritated, and he shook off her hand.

    Angelia groaned.

Jerome felt like he hit her just now and turned to look at her.

Angelia felt her nose was sore from the hit, blood flowing down and dripping on her white shirt.

He looked worried, pinched the sides of her nose, and scolded her, “Are you stupid? Can’t you dodge?”

“You are so quick, I couldn’t dodge in time either.” Angelia retorted.

“You may talk a lot, but you don’t have any skills. Pinch your nose to stop the bleeding and go sit on the sofa.” Jerome said in a deep voice, letting go of her hand.Angelia felt blood flowing down again, so she quickly pinched the sides of her nose and leaned back on the sofa.

Jerome took an ice pack out of the fridge and placed it under her nose with a serious expression.

Angelia looked at his face, which seemed much better than before, and took the opportunity to plead, “Jerome, we were college classmates, do you remember?”

Jerome looked at her and asked, “What do you mean?”

Angelia said kindly, “Just give me another chance. I won’t do this again in the future. I will communicate with you and do what you want. I will work hard and make you happy.”

Jerome frowned and asked, “When was I unhappy?”

She felt that he was always unhappy, “Haha, in the past.”

Jerome looked at her smiling face, which was lively and lovely, with all the beauty of a girl.

Just like that night, she was completely dependent on him.

    His eyes deepened a lot…

Angelia felt uncomfortable under his gaze, released her hand, and sniffed, “It seems that it’s not bleeding anymore. Your method is really effective.”

Jerome threw the ice pack in the trash can, stood up, and turned his back to Angelia, “It’s late, go rest.”

So is he letting her go or not?

Angelia felt uneasy and said pleasingly, “If you need me at night, I can accompany you for 24 hours.”

Jerome looked at her and asked, “Do you treat other guests the same way?”

“Of course not, you are special.”Jerome had a strange expression on his face.

He looked away and said coldly, “You have thick skin, but I don’t need it. You’re not my type.”

“Oh…” Angelia was a little confused.

She didn’t see how her being his type had anything to do with her being on standby for 24 hours.

But since he said that, she responded with a simple “Oh.”

She hesitated to ask him if he would give her a chance.

But looking at his expression, he didn’t seem as angry as before, so she decided not to push it.

She turned around and went back to her small room, locked the door, and lay down on the bed.

    She fell asleep soon after.

Jerome was browsing his emails but couldn’t concentrate.

He thought of Angelia’s hesitant expression earlier and felt a little sorry for her.

He felt restless and looked towards the small room.

He untied his tie and got up, revealing a layer of sinister charm in his noble demeanor.

He went to the bathroom and took a cold shower.

He didn’t sleep well that night and got up early to go for a run…

Angelia slept until her alarm went off.

She didn’t get enough sleep and yawned, forcing herself to wake up.

She brushed her teeth, washed her face, put on makeup, and went to the dressing room to get dressed.

    She went to room 1908.

She knocked on the door several times but no one answered.

She used her key card to enter, but Jerome wasn’t there.

She looked at her watch, it was only 6:30 in the morning.

Jerome’s assistant said he had a habit of morning runs, so maybe he had already gone.

She grabbed a bottle of mineral water and a disposable towel and went to the park in front of the hotel.

Jerome was there, running towards the lake.

When he passed by her, he ran past her.

Angelia smiled. This man is really good-looking.

No wonder those female students in college were so infatuated with him.

Even without the background of the top of a pyramid, just with this face, he can still be popular among a group of women who value appearance.

Look, even June, who never runs, is running after Jerome now.

    “Angelia.”

    A nice male voice sounded.

While Angelia turned her head, Jerome suddenly stopped and looked towards Angelia.

“Warren, what are you doing here, and also running?” Angelia was surprised.

“I came to find you.” Warren handed Angelia a box, “New pastry developed last night, how does it taste?”

Angelia had often tasted dishes for them and given her opinion before, so she naturally took it and took a bite of the cake inside.

“It’s delicious, the filling is osmanthus and meat, and there’s something else?”

    “Winter melon.”

“No wonder it’s so delicious. Walden really had a keen eye to bring you back from afar. I can eat several of these cakes.” Warren smiled, “I prepared sixteen of them in the kitchen. Remember to come and get them when you go home.”

“Warren, you’re really kind.” Angelia praised generously.

Jerome walked up behind her, looking at her smile, and said unhappily, “Are you used to playing both sides?”

“Huh?” Angelia looked at Jerome puzzled.

Strictly speaking, she didn’t even have one side. Sammie’s broken boat only accepts male guests.

She looked at Warren and introduced him, “This is our hotel’s A-level chef. He has been on TV and his food is very delicious.”

She handed Jerome half a cake, “Try it.”Jerome glanced at her, his face cold, and walked past her.

Angelia clearly saw his disdain and awkwardly withdrew her hand, taking a bite of her biscuit.

Jerome turned to look at her, frowned, and said in a low voice, “Hurry up and catch up.”

“Oh.” Angelia stuffed the rest of the biscuit in her mouth, wiped her mouth, and followed him, swiping the room card and pressing the up button for the elevator.

Their reflections were mirrored in the elevator’s mirror.

Jerome looked at her in the mirror, and Angelia noticed his gaze and looked at him.

His gaze was too deep and ambiguous, beyond her experience and knowledge to decipher.

She felt afraid and tried to recall if she had done anything wrong today, perhaps she forgot to give him water.

She immediately opened the mineral water bottle cap and handed it to him, explaining, “I haven’t drunk this water.”

Jerome took the mineral water from her hand, drank a few sips, and said in a low voice, “I’m going to take a shower later.”

“Uh.” For some reason, her face turned red.

Why did he tell her he was going to take a shower? It sounded like something only couples would say.

“I…I’ll prepare the bathwater for you,” Angelia said with a smile.

“Hmm.” He drank several more sips of water before suppressing his restlessness.

Back in the room, Angelia immediately went to the bathroom to prepare the bathwater.

Because it was too early, the housekeeping aunt had not yet come to clean.

The towel he used yesterday was thrown on the bathtub, along with his clothes.

She took a new towel from the cabinet and folded it on the shelf.I’m preparing to take his shirts and suits to the dry cleaners, but as for his personal clothing…should I wash it or not?

Her phone rang and she saw that it was Darcey calling.

She answered, “Angelia, are you coming to the 8:30 meeting in the Business Department?” Darcey asked.

“Of course, I have to come. I just transferred from the Guest Room Department to the Business Department,” Angelia replied.

“Can you take a few pictures of Jerome for me? It would be best if he’s shirtless. I admire and adore him,” Darcey jokingly requested.

“If he finds out, I’m finished,” Angelia said.

“You don’t say anything, I won’t say anything, and he won’t find out. I just want to keep them for myself. Please, I heard that there’s a task to be assigned in the Business Department this time, I won’t compete with you, I’ll help you compete,” Darcey said.

    Angelia hesitated.

“Taking a photo is not a big deal, it’s not illegal, it’s just a little idea of a secret admirer,” Darcey said pitifully.

“Okay, just don’t send it out,” Angelia agreed.

“Don’t worry, I won’t use my last name if I send it out,” Darcey promised.

Angelia hung up the phone and thought about asking for leave to attend the meeting in the Business Department later.

She decided to wash Jerome’s personal clothing as well, so that he would be more amenable to her.

She picked up the black bullet pants that Jerome wore and he walked in, drifting towards Angelia.

Angelia suddenly felt embarrassed and asked, “Um, can I wash these for you?”

    “Get out,” Jerome said coldly.

“Oh,” Angelia said, bowing her head and leaving.

Jerome grabbed her hand and looked at her, his pitch-black eyes reflecting two tiny versions of herself.

“Where are you taking my pants?” Jerome asked.

“Huh?” Angelia was taken aback. She was too nervous and forgot that she was holding his pants in her hand. “I…um, take it out to wash.”

“No need, you can take my coat out for dry cleaning,” Jerome took back his pants and threw them on the shelf, turned his back to Angelia and said coldly, “Go out.”

“Oh.” Angelia went out and took a deep breath, leaning weakly against the wall.

She could feel Jerome’s dislike for her.

No, not just dislike, it should be disgust.

She was originally a cautious person, but why did she keep making mistakes when she met him?

    Right, the photo.

Angelia secretly opened a crack in the door and looked at Jerome.

He took off his shirt, revealing his strong abs. He was really thin when dressed, but had muscles when undressed.

She took out her phone and saw Jerome looking towards the door. She was scared and quickly took a picture before retracting her head.

Then she heard the sound of the door locking.

This, this, this…does Jerome think she was going to peek at him? She felt a twisted feeling in her heart. After adjusting her mood, she called the logistics department to have the new bonsai delivered and asked the cleaning department to come clean the room.

Twenty minutes later, Jerome came out of the bathroom.

He changed his clothes, washed his hair, and his hair was not dry, which was particularly tempting.

Angelia didn’t dare to look him in the eye and asked kindly, “Mr. Taylor, I have prepared breakfast for you. Do you want to eat in the restaurant or have it delivered to your room?”

    “Deliver it to the room.”

“I have a meeting at 8:30 for about two hours. Do you need me to arrange your lunch?”

“No need, I’ll eat out for lunch.” Jerome sat down at his desk.”What about dinner?”

“Angelia,” Jerome looked at her coldly, “you are just a guest room manager, not my butler. You just need to take care of the guest room matters.”

“Uh,” Angelia knew she was being criticized again, smiled and looked up, “I understand, Mr. Taylor.”

She walked out and glanced at the door of room 1908.

As a hotel employee, they would always encounter all kinds of people. These people were just passing guests and there was no need to let them affect their mood.

After having breakfast at the cafeteria, she went to the business department for a meeting.

Darcey saw Angelia running over, “Did you take the picture?”

“Uh,” Angelia replied and sent the photo to Darcey.

“Wow, this profile, this gaze, these abs, the hormones are exploding, so handsome,” Darcey exclaimed, leaning towards Angelia, “can you take a picture of him with nothing on?”

Angelia tapped Darcey’s forehead, “Wake up, girl, that’s crossing the line.”

“Hehe,” Darcey giggled, staring at the photo, “I wonder how good Jerome is in bed. A man who practices abstinence is just too tempting.”

    “Whitmore is here,” Angelia reminded.

There were four people in the business department: Whitmore, her, Darcey, and Anne.

“Since the beginning of this year, our hotel’s average occupancy rate is 60%, and June is also the off-season. We need our colleagues from the business department to work hard. The company has introduced an incentive policy for business trips. In June, for each room you book at the original price, you can earn an additional $100 per day. Do you have any thoughts?”

Whitmore opened the meeting directly.Angelia raised her hand and said, “The Qingyun Sword crew will start filming in our city in June. Adeline is the female lead, and I want to try to get her to stay with us and sign an agreement with her fan club.”

“The male lead of this crew is Read. I had dinner with Read before, so I’ll go find him. He should be willing to stay with us, and it would be easier to find Adeline with his introduction. Let me take care of this crew.” Anne said forcefully.

“Read and Angelia are very familiar with each other. Do you have Read’s contact information?” Darcey asked Anne.

Anne’s face looked strange, “Does Angelia have it?”

“Of course, I even had dinner with Read at Angelia’s recommendation last time. I think it’s more appropriate to give this crew to Angelia.” Darcey said.

“Do you really have Read’s contact information?” Anne asked Angelia incredulously.

    Angelia smiled awkwardly.

    Read?

    One of her husband’s boyfriends.

    “It’s possible.” Angelia said ambiguously.

Anne’s face looked unpleasant, and she said sarcastically, “Didn’t you go to the guest room department? Are you ready to get two salaries?”

“I was temporarily borrowed over there.” Angelia explained with a smile.

“Can you handle multiple jobs well?” Anne sneered.

“You won’t know if I can handle them well or not until the results come out. You’re good at making snide remarks.” Darcey said angrily.

“Should we make a bet?” Anne looked at Angelia. “If you can’t achieve a 40% occupancy rate in June, go back to your guest room department.”

Before Angelia could speak, Darcey said, “If you do achieve 40%, will Anne leave the business department?”

    “Yes.” Anne answered.

“Angelia, bet with her.” Darcey encouraged.

Angelia looked at Darcey with her eyes drooping, unable to express her grievances.Marriott International has 111 rooms, and 40% of them, which is at least 44 rooms per day, need to be sold. How is that possible? It’s not even peak season.

“20%…” Angelia didn’t even finish her sentence when Anne interrupted, “Deal, 22 rooms per day, 660 rooms per month, you can get a commission of 66,000. I’m waiting to see the result of your multi-tasking.”

Angelia couldn’t concentrate on what was being discussed in the meeting anymore.

660 rooms, even if she invited Adeline and a team of ten people, they could only occupy ten rooms at most. Unless she invited the entire film crew to stay, including the director, producer, planner, prop team, photography team, investors, main actors, and their supporters…

This is a five-star hotel, and the regular rooms cost over a thousand per night. Not everyone can afford it.

    She was overwhelmed.

After the meeting, she immediately went to find Walden, “Wettiner, I’ve taken on a difficult task. Can we replace Jerome as the guest room manager?”

“Whitmore has already reported to me. You have guts. 660 rooms is not a small number. I’ll find a way to get you out of it with Mr. Taylor. After all, he’s very annoyed by the casual replacement of guest room managers.”

“Thank you, Wettiner. You’re the most open-minded leader I’ve ever met,” Angelia flattered.

Walden smiled, “Are you free at noon?”

    “Huh?”

“Today is the big boss’s son’s birthday. Will you come with me? I’ll give you an hour to change your clothes and fix your makeup,” Walden said.

As a subordinate, she could only obey. One hour later, a Bentley parked outside the hotel, and Angelia was about to help Walden open the car door when Walden opened it himself and stood respectfully to the side.

Jerome, accompanied by his assistant, coldly sat in the back seat. Angelia hesitated and then awkwardly opened the passenger door and sat down, fastening her seatbelt.

Whitfield looked at Angelia with admiration and asked softly, “Would you like some water?” Angelia shook her head and looked ahead. Jerome frowned as he watched their interaction and his face became more resolute.

Walden smiled and asked, “Do you still like the room Mr. Taylor is staying in?” Jerome responded with a grunt. “Are you satisfied with our room manager?” Walden asked.

Angelia knew that Walden was deliberately asking this question.

If Jerome was not satisfied, he would naturally replace her.

She looked at Jerome cautiously and met his gaze, feeling a bit afraid of him.

Jerome saw her fear and looked away, saying in a businesslike tone, “It’s okay. Angelia is very serious and responsible about her work. She is the most professional and meticulous hotel staff I have ever encountered.”

“Hehe, is that so?” Walden also looked at Angelia. Angelia didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. She was happy to hear Jerome’s praise, but sad that she could still be replaced.

“I heard that Mr. Taylor and Angelia are alumni?” Walden asked.

“Is that so?” Jerome said deeply, implying a denial.Angelia felt embarrassed and explained, “Mr. Taylor is a prominent figure in our school, a legend that alumni have admired and looked up to for many years.”

“Do you admire him too?” Walden asked naturally.

“Of course, every time Mr. Taylor comes to school, there are always a group of girls peeking through the windows of every classroom,” Angelia replied.

“Do you also peek through the windows?” Walden asked with a smile.

    “Heh,” Angelia chuckled awkwardly.

If she said she didn’t peek, it would seem exaggerated. If she admitted to peeking, it would seem like she had a crush on him.

All she could say was, “Everyone has a desire to look good.”

Jerome’s face brightened a lot at this point.

“In your school, many female students have a crush on Mr. Taylor, right?” Walden asked with a smile.

“Yes, there are a lot, and I know of several,” Angelia continued along with Walden.

Jerome coldly added, “Is it useful to have a crush?”

    “Uh…” Angelia was speechless.

The atmosphere in the car suddenly became cold and stagnant.

“I don’t like women who play both sides,” Jerome added.

Angelia really felt like he was talking about her, but she didn’t do that.

It seemed suspicious if she didn’t respond, but responding would seem like she was admitting to it.

After a minute of silence, she decided to remain silent.

Fortunately, Jerome closed his eyes and rested.

She and Walden exchanged a glance, and she pleaded for help with a pouting expression.

Walden didn’t say anything, but he closed his eyes slightly.

Angelia smiled, knowing that Wettiner was reliable when it came to handling things.

An hour later, the car stopped.

“Are we there?” Angelia asked.”Um,” Whitfield smiled and got out of the car, opening the back door for Jerome to come out.

Angelia also wanted to help Walden open the car door, but she had just gotten out of the car and Walden had already stepped out.

    “Hehe,” Angelia laughed embarrassedly.

As colleagues, she couldn’t do as well as Whitfield.

Walden also laughed, “You, you have no ambition. Let’s go.”

“Um,” Angelia stood by Walden’s side.

Jerome frowned, his eyes flashing with a cold light as he looked directly at Angelia and asked, “Who did you come with?”

    “Huh?” Angelia paused.

Of course, she came with Walden.

“Follow me,” Jerome said sternly, walking ahead.

Angelia looked at Walden, who smiled meaningfully and gestured for her to follow Jerome.

In the villa, she was surprised to see Kate, June, and Anne also there.

Mr. Diana stood up as soon as he saw Jerome coming over, “I just came back from France with my son and was planning to visit Jerome. It happened to be my son’s birthday, so I invited you over.”

“I happen to have some private matters to attend to,” Jerome said indifferently.

Whitfield handed a gift to Mrs. Diana.

“Jerome, sit over here,” Mr. Diana beckoned.

His son Gallagher came in from the door and his gaze fell on Angelia’s face, “Who is this?”

    Everyone’s gaze fell on Angelia.

“She is Angelia, an employee of Marriott International,” Walden explained.

Gallagher smiled even more, putting his hand on Mr. Diana’s shoulder, “Old man, you have a good eye for hiring employees.”

June and Anne looked at each other and said, “Yes, indeed. Angelia graduated from the management department of Detroit University, which has a ranking internationally.”Is it the Department of Management?

Isn’t it the Hotel Management major?” Mr. Diana asked curiously.

Angelia smiled, “I coincidentally applied to Marriott International and thought the job was good, so I stayed.”

“Oh, I see,” Mr. Diana nodded happily, admiring Angelia’s appearance as he walked ahead.

“She’s good at flattery,” Jerome said meaningfully, speaking softly enough for Angelia, who was standing next to him, to hear.

    Angelia blushed.

She had taken care of Alyssa for twelve months before going out to find work, and without work experience, no matter how high her education, it was difficult to find an ideal job.

Because she was proficient in English and decent in French, she was able to stay at Marriott International, starting as a waitress and gradually rising to room manager, and now a business department specialist.

It wasn’t her ideal job, but it could support herself and Alyssa.

She had just wanted to follow Jerome when Gallagher called out to her, “Go to the wine cellar in the basement and get two bottles of 1982 Lafite.”

“Oh. Where is the basement?” Angelia asked.

“I’ll take you there,” Gallagher went to the kitchen to open the basement door, nodded towards the stairs, and gestured for Angelia to go down.

As the boss’s son spoke, she had no reason not to go down as an employee.

She walked to the basement, but suddenly felt Gallagher hug her from behind.

Angelia was shocked and straightened her back, firmly objecting, “Gallagher, what are you doing?”

Gallagher leaned in closer to her, “You smell good, I like you.”

“That’s just perfume,” Angelia forcefully pulled his hands off.

But he held her tightly, gazing at Angelia’s face with infatuation, “You’re very beautiful, with a good figure. Sleeping with me once will benefit you.”Angelia restrained her almost exploding temper and said sternly, “I don’t want to do this with you, please let go.”

“What if I don’t let go? I’ve locked the door, no one will come, even if I force you here, who knows, I can just insist that you seduced me, and you won’t win even if you report it. Don’t be stubborn, let me do it, I’ll make you feel good,” Gallagher said wickedly.

Angelia trembled all over and clenched her fists.

Five years ago, she was forced by someone, which changed the trajectory of her life. She was framed, set up, and humiliated.

She had the impulse to fight Gallagher to the death.

But… she had Alyssa to support and her grandmother to take care of.

Physically, she couldn’t break free, so she could only stay calm.

“Gallagher, I think you don’t want to live anymore,” Angelia raised her chin and looked at Gallagher with a coquettish smile.

Gallagher was puzzled by her extreme reactions and asked, “What does that mean?”

“My boyfriend is Jerome. If you dare to touch his woman, as long as he says a word, the Diana family will be ruined. Can you, a rich kid, handle that?” Angelia smiled lightly.

“That’s impossible. He’s only been at Columbia for a few days, and you’re already hooking up with him?” Gallagher didn’t believe it, but he loosened his grip.

Angelia immediately broke free from him, “A few days? You’ve only seen me for a few minutes.”

Gallagher stared at Angelia’s bright and beautiful face and the shimmering light in her eyes.

He chickened out, “Are you really Jerome’s girlfriend?””Otherwise, how do you think I can follow him? If he sees some marks on my body at night, do you think he will believe me or believe you?” Angelia hinted.

“Hehe, I was just joking with you earlier, you didn’t take it seriously, did you? The wine is on your right, I’ll go up and wait for you.” Gallagher laughed and left.

Angelia breathed a sigh of relief as she watched him leave. She had to prioritize safety and take things one step at a time from now on. She picked up the two bottles of Lafite next to her and stood next to Jerome.

Gallagher was unwilling and asked Jerome, “Is Angelia your girlfriend?”

“Who said that?” Jerome said in a deep voice.

“She did.” Jerome looked at Angelia with a meaningful smile, very happy and evil. “Isn’t she?”

Jerome neither admitted nor denied it, and his gaze fell on Angelia’s face.

The atmosphere was too strong, like a blade. Angelia was so embarrassed that she almost exploded on the spot. She didn’t expect Gallagher to ask directly and quickly explained, “I was just joking.”

“Hehehe.” Gallagher laughed even more happily. “So it was just a joke.”

Jerome sensed that there was something unclear between them, his face changed slightly, and he looked at Gallagher and said coldly, “Even jokes should have limits. Some jokes can be made, and some jokes cannot be made.”

“Eh.” Gallagher felt like Jerome was warning him.

“Walden scolded Angelia for changing after a year in the business department and forgetting her duties as a guest room manager,” Walden criticized, looking at Jerome’s face.

“I’ll go back and get you a suitable guest room manager.”

Jerome’s face looked even worse, he tilted his head back and drank the wine in his cup.

At the banquet, Angelia tried to avoid Gallagher as much as possible, but didn’t isolate herself.

She was afraid and relieved when it finally ended.

Mr. Diana wanted to talk business with Walden, so she and Jerome left first.

Jerome had a few drinks and rested his eyes while leaning back in his chair.

Angelia sat in the back seat, prepared with wet wipes, a paper bag, and bottled water.

Jerome opened his eyes deeply and looked at her for a while.

Angelia had a very beautiful profile, giving people a gentle and peaceful feeling.

“Why did you say I was your boyfriend?” Jerome asked, his voice low and not sounding angry.

“Um,” Angelia tried to think of a good reason to explain, but found none.

She turned to face Jerome and apologized, “I’m sorry, Mr. Taylor, I didn’t mean to say that. Earlier in the basement, Gallagher wanted me, and only your reputation could suppress him, so I lied.”

“He wanted you?” Jerome squinted his eyes, and a chill flashed.

Angelia found it difficult to speak.

Although she had a child, she had almost no experience in that area.

The only time she had, she didn’t remember anything.

Jerome also guessed from her expression and turned his face away, pursing his lips and not saying anything.

Angelia saw that he seemed angry and begged, “I won’t do that again in the future, I’m sorry.”

Jerome glanced at her, took out his phone, and sent a text message, “Just talked to Angelia, turns out she was my classmate, take good care of her, I will keep in touch with her often.”Mr. Diana received a text message from Jerome and after thinking about it, he asked Walden, “Jerome just sent me a message, can you help me figure out what it means?”

Mr. Diana showed the message to Walden. “It should mean that he hopes the company will promote Angelia more,” explained Walden.

Mr. Diana smiled ambiguously, “He calls Angelia by her first name, they must be close.”

Walden smiled lightly and remained silent.

“What does ‘常联系’ mean? If he just wants me to promote her, saying ‘take good care of her’ would be enough,” Mr. Diana said, lost in thought.

“It should mean that he will keep an eye on her all the time. Gallagher seemed to have something with Angelia at noon today,” hinted Walden.

Mr. Diana suddenly realized, “Your employee is really attractive. I will remind Syracuse to participate in the development and find a way to sign a contract with Jerome early to avoid future problems.”

    “Yes.”

Angelia accompanied Jerome back to room 1908.

Jerome needed rest, and Angelia respectfully went to the kitchen to pour him a glass of honey water.

When she went to the master bedroom, Jerome seemed to have fallen asleep, lying on the bed with his clothes on, eyes closed, and his right hand resting on his forehead.

She didn’t wake Jerome up and gently placed the glass of water on the bedside table, adjusted the air conditioning temperature to 26 degrees, and took out a blanket from the closet to cover Jerome.

    Suddenly, he grabbed her wrist.

Angelia looked into Jerome’s eyes and explained, “I’m just helping you cover the blanket, I have no ill intentions.”

Jerome didn’t say anything, but his gaze became even darker.Angelia always felt that the places where his palm restrained her were too hot, and his gaze was too deep.

She twisted her wrist but couldn’t break free. Maintaining the professionalism of a client manager, she said, “If possible, drink honey water before going to sleep. Honey water has a good effect in relieving hangover headaches.”

Jerome’s eyes were filled with waves. “I told you, if you want to be my woman, you can’t have other men. If you can’t do it, don’t come to provoke me, otherwise, I won’t let it go easily like last time.”

Angelia was stunned. She didn’t remember Jerome saying these things to her, and these words sounded ambiguous, like something that would be said between two people who were not yet lovers. At most, she and Jerome were just classmates for half a year.

The words they exchanged didn’t exceed ten sentences, let alone any interaction.

This guy must have mistaken her for someone else while he was drunk. She couldn’t argue with a drunk person, so she said, “I understand. You should rest first.”

“What do you mean by ‘I understand’?” Jerome asked.

“I have a boyfriend and I won’t provoke you,” Angelia smiled.

Jerome’s face turned pale, and his voice became sharp. “You have a boyfriend?”

    “Yes,” she replied casually.

Jerome’s gaze was sharp, and he gritted his teeth. He let go of her hand, sat up, and didn’t even look at her. “Wettiner said he will change the client manager for me. You don’t need to come here anymore.”

Jerome’s mood was unpredictable, and Angelia didn’t adapt to it for a moment. She understood that he was asking her to leave, so she replied, “Okay.”Jerome’s face became worse and he handed her the honey water on the table, “Take it out and pour it away.”

“Oh.” Angelia didn’t struggle and took the cup of honey water, lifted her head and left without any reluctance or struggle.

Jerome casually threw the blanket on the bed to the ground.

Angelia heard something being smashed in the room, shrank her neck, and breathed a sigh of relief.

She was really glad that she didn’t have to serve Jerome anymore and could go back to the business department directly.

“Angelia, you look very happy. Did something good happen at Diana, Vice President’s banquet today?” Darcey leaned over and asked.

Angelia propped her chin and browsed the information on the computer. “Mr. Diana’s intention was not just to drink, mainly to entertain Jerome. He flattered and fawned over him, which was impressive.”

“Did Jerome go too?” Darcey exclaimed.

“And,” Angelia hooked Darcey’s shoulder, “I don’t have to be Jerome’s guest room manager anymore.”

“Ah.” Darcey pouted regretfully, “Then I won’t have any photos to take?”

“Calm down, why do you need photos? To quench your thirst? Is it the ultimate goal to collide with him accidentally someday?” Angelia teased.

Darcey’s eyes lit up, “That’s a good idea.”

“I’m joking, don’t really bump into him. Jerome’s temper…is not too good.” Angelia warned.

Darcey stuck out her tongue at Angelia and returned to her own seat.

Angelia continued to search for information and, through a friend of a friend of a friend’s introduction, found Adeline’s assistant Ferris.

She made a phone call and said, “Hello, Ferris, I’m Angelia from Columbia Marriott International. I heard that Adeline will be filming in Columbia in June, and I would like to invite her to stay at Marriott International. I’m not sure if you’re in charge of Adeline’s accommodation?”

“Adeline’s accommodation is handled by her agent Lisa.”

“Can you tell me Lisa’s contact information?” Angelia asked kindly.

“Lisa doesn’t like us to give out her phone number. There will be a fashion show at Century Park in Columbia this Friday, and Adeline is the spokesperson. Lisa should be there too. Whether you can see her or not depends on your luck.”

“Thank you, you’re really kind.” Angelia thanked the assistant and hung up the phone.

“How about it? Did you make an appointment with Adeline?” Darcey asked with concern.

Angelia shook her head, “I’ll try to get tickets for the fashion show on Friday first.”

“Wettiner should have them. He has a good relationship with the owner of World Garden,” Darcey suggested.

Angelia made an OK gesture. It’s still possible to make it on Friday.

Her phone rang, and she saw Amanda Charles’ call. She politely answered the phone, “Mom.”

“Come back early for dinner tonight. I have something to announce,” Amanda Charles ordered sternly.

After speaking, she hung up the phone without giving Angelia a chance to refuse.

Angelia didn’t want to go back, but if she didn’t, according to Amanda Charles’ temper, it might cause trouble at work the next day. She could only go and bought a cantaloupe, a watermelon, and a bunch of bananas.

When she entered the house, Sammie was already there, and they were having dinner.

Amanda Charles said sarcastically, “As your mother-in-law, I have no status in your heart. I asked you to come back early for dinner, but look at what time it is now.”Angelia glanced at the clock hanging on the wall, it was half past six.

She placed the fruits on the coffee table and explained, “My company only finished work at half past five, and the traffic was bad. I bought some fruits, which delayed me a bit.”

“What kind of crappy fruit did you buy? Who would want to eat your garbage fruits? Take them back with you when you leave,” Amanda Charles said disdainfully.

Angelia smiled faintly, without retorting, washed her hands, and went over to eat.

“Look how skinny you are, a gust of wind could blow you away. With a body like that, how can you give birth to a son?” Amanda Charles stared at Angelia.

As soon as Angelia heard about giving birth to a son, she felt a headache and ate her food in silence.

“Didn’t you hear me talking?” Amanda Charles said sternly.

“I heard you, Mom,” Angelia said, putting a piece of chicken in her bowl.

Amanda Charles was angry at Angelia’s soft and weak appearance. She reached out and threw the bowl Angelia was eating from on the ground, “What are you eating? Stop eating, what’s the point of eating so much if you can’t give birth to a son?”

“Amanda Charles. What are you doing? Speak properly,” Sammie’s father said in a deep voice.

Amanda Charles became even angrier, stood up, and pointed at Angelia, “Is it useful to speak nicely to her? Look at her cowardly appearance, she’s been here for five years and hasn’t made a sound. Even a chicken is better than her, laying eggs every three to five days and still able to cluck. What about her? She can’t even fart for half a day. I don’t know how her mother taught her, how did she give birth to such a shameless thing?”

Angelia’s eyes narrowed, she put down her chopsticks, and looked at Amanda Charles.

Originally, she didn’t want to care about them. They had no future plans in her life, so she could endure it and live her life. She didn’t want to waste her energy.

But being bullied again and again, did they think she was easy to bully?

“How am I shameless?” Angelia asked back.

Amanda Charles slammed the table heavily, “You eat at Sammie’s house, sleep at Sammie’s house, and you still have the nerve to not give birth to a son.”

“It’s not my problem that I can’t give birth to a son, but your son’s problem, isn’t it?” Angelia coldly glanced at Sammie.
