When Grace woke up the next day, Otto was no longer there.

She sat on the bed and scratched her head, feeling a bit confused.

Some things she could remember, while others she couldn’t.

But she did remember that she and her ex-husband had been foolish all night long, and that was something she still remembered.

    It was so exciting.

They had only just divorced, yet they were already together again.

This was something that only happened in TV dramas.

Grace remembered what she had searched for on Baidu yesterday on how to ease the pain of divorce.

Well, she had done it all – getting drunk and having a wild night.

Grace lifted the covers and looked at herself.

She vaguely remembered that Otto had been quite vigorous last night.

Indeed, this was illegal, but the excitement was there.

Grace dragged her sore body to take a shower.

As she was waiting to get out, her phone rang, which had been left on the bed.

Grace quickly answered it, and it was Mason on the other end.

Mason said he had booked a flight ticket for Grace to California.

Grace didn’t care about the location and said, “Okay, when is it?”

Mason said, “Tomorrow morning. You said the sooner, the better, right? How about this?”

Grace nodded and said, “Okay, this time is the best. Send me the boarding time, and I’ll go straight there tomorrow.”

Mason didn’t offer to pick her up or anything and just sent the boarding information before hanging up.

Grace sat on the bed, drying her hair and looking at the information.

After finishing reading it, she put down the towel and let out a long sigh.

She didn’t know how long she would be wandering outside this time and when she would come back, but she should be able to let go of Otto by then.

After packing up, she went out to eat and then bought a bouquet of flowers to visit Mr. Clark senior.

Mr. Clark senior’s grave was very grand.

The Clark family was very willing to spend money back then.

Grace placed the flowers in front of the tombstone and said, “Grandpa, I came to see you and also wanted to tell you that Otto and I got divorced.”

Grace thought for a moment and said, “It’s not his fault, he probably just can’t like me. Being with someone you don’t like for a lifetime is actually a very painful thing, and for me, it’s also torture. But now it’s good, he gave me a lot of money, and in the future, I can live very well.”

Mr. Clark senior on the tombstone looked very serious. But usually, he was a very kind person. He was the best to her in the whole Clark family.

Grace’s eyes were slightly red, but she never cried.

She was afraid that the old man would see her cry and worry in another world. Grace said she was leaving and didn’t know when she would come back. She also said she would bring some local specialties for the old man to taste when she returned.

Grace chatted for a while before leaving. When she got home, she packed her things, but there wasn’t much to pack since she hadn’t stayed here for many days. Also, it wasn’t necessary to bring too many things when going out. In the end, she didn’t even fill a small suitcase.

Grace sat on the bed and thought for a while before calling Otto. He should be resting at this time. The other side answered the phone quickly. Otto’s voice was very formal, “What’s up?”

Grace wanted to mention what happened last night, but hearing Otto’s formal tone, she lost interest instantly. She paused for two seconds before saying, “Nothing, just wanted to let you know that I’m leaving tomorrow. I don’t know when we’ll see each other again. Goodbye.”

Otto’s reaction was somewhat indifferent, “Okay.”

Grace pursed her lips and felt a little disappointed. She had planned to say a few more words to save face, but then she heard a woman’s voice on the other end, “Otto?”

Grace was startled and quickly hung up the phone. She took a deep breath and then felt a little frustrated. It was just a woman on the other end, why did she feel so fake and hang up the phone? What was she afraid of?

Grace hit the bed in anger.
